A Guide to Choosing the Perfect Modelling Agency for Your Baby

The Great British public have always had a soft spot for babies and little children and as a result, they have become an important part of countless advertising campaigns. Evian, in recent years, have amassed huge online popularity from their recent advertising campaign which featured a number of babies rollerskating. As a result, thousands of parents want their children and babies to be the stars of modelling campaigns and adverts and thus baby modelling agencies have soared in popularity.

It is estimated that around ten thousand applications are sent each week to baby modelling agencies by parents who are keen for their sons and daughters to be future stars. But what should you look for in an agency? You do not want your precious child signed up to an unreputable modeling agency Singapore or one which is not going to end up costing you loads of your hard earned money. Here we look at some of the characteristics of good baby modelling agencies.

Distance
How far are you prepared to travel? Try and look for baby modelling agencies which are as close to you as possible. If you are based in or around London then it is going to be easier for you to get jobs as a high proportion of baby modelling jobs are located here. Other major cities like Birmingham and Manchester are also popular. Bare in mind that you will end up doing a lot of travelling whilst trying to get modelling jobs as you will be required to attend casting calls and, if your baby is successful, the shoot itself.

Reviews
Check out reviews online for baby modelling agencies, although do take them with a pinch of salt. With rejection comes bitterness and thus many people will post negative reviews of modelling agencies which have rejected them or their children. Also bear in mind that people rarely post reviews when things are going well; negative reviews are much more prevalent. However, they can give you a good feel as to whether the agency is reputable or not or whether they are simply going to end up taking money from you.

Experience
Try and find out exactly how many years the agency has been in the industry for. Baby modelling agencies which have been around for at least five years or so are likely to have a greater number of contacts and links than one which has only been around for a year. Speak directly to the agency in order to get a feel for how experienced they are. Try and ask for information like how many clients they have, or who their biggest clients are.

Price and Commission
Does the agency charge an initial joining fee and what commission are they asking for from my baby? This is arguably the most important question you should be asking. Hunt around to see which baby modelling agencies are going to take the least amount of money from you, but bare in mind that the most reputable agencies are likely to charge more than smaller, lesser known ones.
